On Saturday, July 13, Germantown resident Rolando "Roly" Balcazar, Jr. was killed in what was described as "a tragic accident" while riding his motorcycle, leaving behind his loving family and children.
Following his death, the community has rallied around his loved ones as they continue to grip with his unexpected passing.
"Dripz, you're 1 of a kind my brother," a friend posted on social media. "I will NEVER forget you (and) your beautiful soul. Love you forever. "No worries, Ride Free brother, We all got your girls (and) Familia, we always will. Until we Ride together Again, RIP My Brother."
Balcazar was a temporary manager at Buckeystown Pub in Frederick County, where he also later served as a cook.
"As most of you have already heard the pub family suffered a great loss over the weekend," the owners posted on Facebook. "Roland joined us as a manager after Mary retired. He was a very hard worker who brought a fun loving spirit to the pub and was very quickly loved by everyone.
"Although he didn't continue in the manager position he has continued to cook the last few years," they added. "He will be very missed by all of us here at the pub."
"He was an amazing father, son, brother and incredible husband to his wife Luz," Julian Balcazar wrote. "He leaves behind his five children, including our little sister who is only 5 years old."
A GoFundMe for the Balcazar family has also been set up and can be found here.
